PHOENIX FOUNDATION’s Projects

LITERACY AND NUMERACY LEARNING RECOVERY PROJECT

Addressing the impact of coronavirus through numeracy and literacy learning recovery programs through play-based learning is one of the projects that the foundation is currently undertaking. The COVID-19 and Cholera pandemics have affected everyone in Zambia, and children are no exception. With schools closing for extended periods, children missed out on crucial learning opportunities. The foundation is addressing this gap by providing numeracy and literacy learning recovery programs through play-based learning.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION LEARNING CENTER

The foundation is committed to renovate the early childhood learning center. The center is providing early childhood education services, focusing on the holistic development of children aged between 3-5 years. The center provides a conducive learning environment that nurture children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM

We are trying to introduce the feeding program to the pupils so as to help them attend classes without difficulties. Malnutrition is a significant issue in Zambia, and it affects many children's ability to attend school. The foundation aims to address this issue by introducing a feeding program that will provide a nutritious meal to all pupils daily.

CAPACITY BUILDING

TIIF leadership has been very intentional and active on pursuing organization development opportunities. We have had capacity building workshops on Social Emotional Learning, Nonprofit Management, Play Based Learning techniques by Global Fund for Children, Cultivate and Africa CDC.

SUPERBETTER CLUB

The foundation has established a club aimed at addressing mental health and building resilience among children and youth in less resourced communities of Isoka District. The lessons are clearly integrated with the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights resources.
